Timo Werner Returns to RB Leipzig After Failed Chelsea Stint

German striker Timo Werner has made a sensational return to Bundesliga club RB Leipzig after a disappointing spell at Chelsea. Werner previously played for Leipzig from 2016 to 2020, scoring 95 goals in 159 appearances before moving to Chelsea for a reported fee of £47.5 million.
Werner's time at Chelsea was far less successful, as he struggled to adapt to the Premier League and only managed 23 goals in 89 appearances. He was often criticized for his lack of consistency and poor finishing, leading to his eventual departure from the club.
Leipzig, who are currently managed by former RB Salzburg boss Marco Rose, have welcomed Werner back with open arms. The club believes that Werner's pace, movement, and goalscoring ability will be a valuable asset to their team.
Werner is expected to make his second debut for Leipzig in their Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt on August 12.
